Jane Williams steps forward once again to lead the Rotary Club of Irlam, bringing with her decades of community spirit and a deep commitment to service. Jane is no stranger to leadership; she previously guided the club through the extraordinary challenges of the COVID-19 years, helping Rotary continue its work when the community needed it most. Her calm approach, warm personality, and dedication to Rotary values made her a steady hand during testing times.
Today, as she begins her new term for the 2025–2026 Rotary year, Jane brings renewed energy and a lifelong passion for helping others. Having spent many years working in childcare in Irlam and now Warrington, caring for families and young children is at the heart of everything she does. A member for over ten years, Jane is well-known for getting involved in every corner of club life — from fundraising projects to her much-loved annual quiz night, which has raised significant funds for local good causes. Her leadership reflects the spirit of Rotary: friendship, service, and making a positive difference close to home and beyond.
The Rotary Club of Irlam was chartered in 1969, during a time when Irlam and Cadishead were thriving industrial communities.
The area was home to the steelworks, soapworks, and margarine works, along with many local shops and businesses.
From those workplaces came a group of community-minded people who shared a simple idea — to use their skills and connections to help others. They joined together to form the new Rotary Club of Irlam, dedicated to friendship, service, and making a lasting difference.
More than fifty years later, that same spirit continues. Our members still bring people together to support local projects, raise funds for good causes, and strengthen our community. To serve our community through practical action, fellowship, and charitable support — improving lives locally in Irlam, Cadishead and Rixton-with-Glazebrook, and supporting humanitarian efforts around the world.

We meet most Thursday evenings at Irlam Station to plan our charity events and discuss ways to enhance community support for local projects through the Rotary Club.
